In the very poor rural parts of Guatemala and Honduras where EPIC programs are working, toothbrushes are often considered too expensive for families to buy individual brushes for their children. EPIC Health promotes giving children a toothbrush, teaches them how best to brush their teeth, and stresses the importance of tooth brushing. They also continue fighting an uphill battle against sugary drinks and snacks.
