EPIC’s program in Guatemala is planting 20,000 trees this year to address severe deforestation. The story below tells the inspiring story of Antonio and Hermelinda who have a family tree nursery with 5,000 small trees to be planted by their community as soon as the rainy season begins. This is a collaboration between Mennonite Men’s Join Trees campaign and EPIC’s Baja Verapaz: Sustainable Agriculture Program which brings local experience in developing tree nurseries and successfully planting trees.
