3.6.24 – Protecting the Environment, Protecting Human Rights
The Vicente Guerrero group has been defending the rights of campesino and indigenous people since 1979. In their work, they protect and rescue Mexican farmers´ wisdom and identity, balance the relationship between human beings and the natural environment that holds them, and introduce a gender perspective to their community work. This year they are one of the nominees for the national human rights award from the Fundación Don Sergio Mendez Arceo (Premio Nacional de DH Don Sergio Méndez Arceo). Thanks, Megan, for this wonderful look into their work!
