After four years of trials, Tempisque rice remains an exciting option for reducing food insecurity amid the climate crisis. Planting indigenous upland rice, which is both drought-resistant and hurricane-tolerant, is one current strategy to combat serious food insecurity in these countries.
Tempisque Rice is a story of hope during climate change. This video explains a bit about EPIC new project, growing upland rice in El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and Honduras. This type of rice is resistant to drought and flooding.
