Ensuring Food Security
11.4.19 - Strategy #1 Ensuring Food Insecurity: The UN World Food Program (Dec. 12, 2018) analyzed data on migrants from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras who were rejected by Mexican immigration authorities when they tried to reach the United States. Contrary to the common perception that migration from these countries is driven primarily by violence and gangs, 65 percent cited food insecurity.

Integration of New Leadership
Our partners took active steps in the past year to ensure that their organizations are also sustainable! Not only is a new generation of leadership emerging, but many of the programs integrate younger people in their programs.
Expanding Sustainable Agricultural Work
Trained educators helped conduct an initial survey of the new communities and discovered that food production is so inadequate that many families must migrate to other parts of Guatemala to harvest sugar cane or coffee.
EPIC on Colorado Gives – Dec 4th
This year Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, December 4th, and will featured a $1 million Incentive Fund. Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day received a portion of the fund, increasing the value of every dollar donated.

NEW PROJECT: Goals For Kids
Dreams of emigration begin when youth in Central America feel there is nothing for them at home. EPIC's newest project, Goals for Kids, is working both with teens and these young kids who have previously had no PE in school.

Eruption of the Volcan de Fuego
